Horse Racing Preview: Thursday 6th July

Sean Bowen makes the log trip north to Perth Racecourse on Thursday, where he intends to further cement his place at the top of the Jump Jockeys’ Championship.

The Welsh jockey has four rides – Nottodaybobo, Fruit Blossom, Fierami and Baby Socks, with the first race off at 2.20pm.

Surprisingly, Bowen had just the one winner on the card at Stratford on Tuesday – Sobegrand – but will fancy his chances in Scotland of adding to his tally of 44 wins from 176 races so far this season.

Along with Bowen there is Welsh interest at Perth through trainer Christian Williams, who has enjoyed notable success on this course in recent seasons.

The Williams-trained Call Of The Loon goes in the 4.20pm, second last time out at Plumpton last month.

The more fancied Prince Cleni also goes in the same race for Williams, a winner at Southwell earlier this month following a second place at Uttoxeter.

There are also flat race meetings on Thursday at Yarmouth, Haydock, Newbury and Kempton.
