Georgia Evans has told her Wales teammates they must deliver a complete 80 minutes performance if they are to beat Italy in Parma on Saturday.
Evans will be part of a Welsh side needing just a single point to clinch third place in the Tiktok Women’s Six Nations final table.
But the second row has warned Wales need more than the periods of excellence they managed in defeats to England and France.
“It’s pivotal now that we grasp this opportunity against Italy and make sure we finish third,” says Evans.
“Italy is not a game to look past. They have threats all over the place and you never know just what they are going to come with.
“We need to start fast. We need a complete performance and to show consistency through the whole game. “
Wales have not beaten Italy since 2017 but victories over Ireland and Scotland at the start of the tournament means just a bonus point will secure third place ahead of the Scots.
But Evans says Wales are desperate for a win to finish the competition in the ascendancy.
“This will be a test of whether we can deliver an 80 minutes performance against a very good Italy side, who we’ve lost our last two games against.
“There’s a fair bit riding on this individual game, but you have to look at the tournament as a whole to measure our progress and development.
“We pride ourselves on going toe to toe, but the only way to get better is to beat the top sides.
“It’s never been our intention to leave it to the last game to deliver that 80 performance, but I feel mentally and physically we are ready. We are excited for this challenge.
We are ready to right some wrongs.”
