PREVIEWS

CYMRU NORTH

Both of the top two sides in Cymru North are at home on Friday night.

While leaders Airbus UK Broughton and second-place Colwyn Bay will be facing decent opposition, it is difficult to bet against a pair of home successes.

Airbus take on Bangor 1876, who have made a promising start to the campaign, but might struggle to get anything against Mark Allen’s side.

Bay welcome Flint Mountain to Llanelian Road, again a good test for Mike Wilde’s men but the visitors are likely to come up a little short.

Two bottom five sides clash when Llandudno host Gresford Athletic. This one could end up a draw.

Saturday sees Buckley Town host bottom side Llay Miners Welfare.

While Llay have won at Globe Way this term, 2-1 in the Welsh Blood Service League Cup in August, Bucks should get revenge in a close contest.

Hard to see Prestatyn Town getting any rewwd from their journey to Caersws, but Guilsfield v Denbigh Town is a very hard one to call.

Guils have lost five on the bounce, while Denbigh are five unbeaten. However, the Powys hosts have upset Denbigh in the past, including in a 4-1 win last season.

However, let’s go with the form book and predict a Town win.

Very unusually, Holywell Town have lost five of their last six, including a Welsh Cup defeat at the hands of Saturday’s visitors Ruthin Town.

With the quality they have, the Wellmen have to start turning the tables some time and they should have the edge over tricky Ruthin.

Mold Alexandra are in great nick, and two weeks after beating them in the Welsh Cup, they can turn over Penrhyncoch at Alyn Park.

SCORECASTS

Airbus UK 2 Bangor 1876 0
Colwyn Bay 3 Flint Mountain 1
Llandudno 2 Gresford Athletic 2

Buckley Town 2 Llay Welfare 1
Caersws 3 Prestatyn Town 0
Guilsfield 1 Denbigh Town 2
Holywell Town 2 Ruthin Town 0
Mold Alexandra 3 Penrhyncoch 1

ARDAL NORTH EAST

Kerry can grab top spot on Saturday with victory at home to Llandridod Wells, whom they lost to away 2-1 last weekend.

Instant revenge for the Lambs? Not for us, Llandrindod are playing well and can bag a draw.

Boosted by a great win over leaders Bow Street last Saturday, Builth Wells can win again when Llangollen Town visit Lant Fields.

Cefn Albion versus Llanfair United looks like a potential draw, but even though Llansantffraid did well to win at Llanidloes last weekend, we doubt they will repeat the feat away to third-place Dolgellau.

Chirk AAA can battle their way to a draw at home to Rhos Aelwyd, while Radnor Valley against Penycae also has the air of a split verdict.

SCORECASTS

Builth Wells 2 Llangollen Town 1
Cefn Albion 1 Llanfair United 1
Chirk AAA 1 Rhos Aelwyd 1
Dolgellau Athletic 3 Llansantffraid 1
Kerry 1 Llandrindod Wells 1

Radnor Valley 2 Penycae 2

ARDAL NORTH WEST

Holyhead Hotspur are a good bet to rise up to third place – for about 18 hours at least – when they entertain CPD Y Felinheli at the New Stadium on Friday.

Managerless CPD Y Rhyl 1879 will want to avoid a repeat of last season’s 4-1 home defeat to Llangefni Town when they host the Anglesey side on Saturdday. Cefni are coming off the back of a good away win at Nantlle Vale after three straight defeats on their travels.

Unbeaten at home NFA should comfortably see off pointless bottom side Menai Bridge at Ffordd Derwen, while undefeated leaders Porthmadog can breeze past Conwy Borough.

Corwen are on a good run of three consecutive league wins and can make it four at St Asaph City.

SCORECASTS

Holyhead Hotspur 2 CPD Y Felinheli 0

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 2 Llangefni Town 2
NFA 4  Menai Bridge Tigers 0
Porthmadog 3 Conwy Borough 0
St Asaph City 1 Corwen 3
