Barry Town United boss Lee Kendall can celebrate his Manager of the Month award by stretching his club’s unbeaten run to 12 matches on Friday night.
Kendal was the recipient of the gong for February in the JD Cymru South and can underline the wisdom of that choice by reaching a dozen games without defeat at Trefelin.
With Kayne McLaggon still finding the net regularly, league leaders Barry will fancy their chances at mid-table Trefelin, who are on a poor run of four defeats in their last five matches.
Since the turn of the year, Barry have won three times and drawn once – scoring eight goals and conceding just once.
They are currently eight points clear at the top, with a game in hand on second-place Briton Ferry Llansawel, who are away to Ammanford, also on Friday night.
The Ferry went down 1-0 in their Welsh Cup quarter-final tie last weekend against Cymru Premier Bala Town, but need a quick response if they are to maintain a gap between themselves and third-place Llanelli Town, who have two games in hand.
The other Friday night match sees strugglers Swansea University – with just five wins all season – host champions Llantwit Major.
The students were hammered 5-0 by Barry last month, but have since recovered, drawing with Taffs Well and then overcoming Ammanford, 2-1.
Llantwit were 3-0 down in their last match at Ynyshir Albion when the game was abandoned after a serious injury to Llantwit’s Joel Woodington.
The striker was knocked unconscious, but later recovered and was allowed to return home from hospital.
On Saturday, the pick of the fixtures is the Carmarthenshire derby between Carmarthen Town and Llanelli Town at Richmond Park.
The Old Gold are back in sixth place in the table, but can make ground on Llanelli, in third, if they bounce back from last week’s 3-0 defeat at Afan Lido.
The Reds, though, are unbeaten in their last four games, with three victories and a hard-earned draw last time out against Barry.
Elsewhere, fourth-placed Afan Lido go to lowly Pontardawe, with the visitors only a point behind Llanelli.
Lido are on a roll having gone 13 matches unbeaten and have scored eight goals in their last two games – a 5-2 win over Goytre United, followed by that 3-0 breeze past Carmarthen.
Cwmbran Celtic, in 10th, entertain bottom club Ynyshir, while fifth-place Cambrian and Clydach Vale welcome Abergavenny.
