Six Nations 2027: Wales fixtures, how to watch and the state of play

Flags of the six competing nations in front of the Six Nations championship trophy

Last updated 12 August 2026. Fixtures verified against the official Six Nations schedule.

Nothing moves Wales like the Six Nations. For 6 weeks in late winter the country checks the fixture list before it checks the weather. Here’s everything for 2027: every Wales fixture, how to watch, and where Welsh rugby stands going in.

Wales’ Six Nations 2027 fixtures

Date Fixture Venue Kick-off
Sat 6 February 2027 France v Wales Stade de France, Paris 4:40pm
Sat 13 February 2027 Scotland v Wales Murrayfield, Edinburgh 4:40pm
Sat 20 February 2027 Wales v Ireland Principality Stadium, Cardiff 2:10pm
Sat 6 March 2027 Wales v England Principality Stadium, Cardiff 4:40pm
Sat 13 March 2027 Italy v Wales Stadio Olimpico, Rome 2:10pm

Two home games this year: Ireland and England both come to Cardiff. The championship runs from 5 February to 13 March, finishing with all 3 final-round games on Super Saturday.

How to watch the Six Nations

Free to air, as it should be. The championship is shared between BBC and ITV under the current rights deal, and S4C carries Welsh-language coverage of every Wales game. Which channel gets which match is confirmed nearer the tournament, and we’ll update this page when it is.

Where Wales stand

Honestly? Rebuilding. Wales took a third straight wooden spoon in 2026, but the final-day 31-17 win over Italy in Cardiff ended a 15-match championship losing run and gave the rebuild its first real result. The 2027 campaign starts in Paris, which is nobody’s idea of a gentle opener. Before that come the autumn Tests: our Wales fixtures and how-to-watch guide has the full rundown.

The history books lend some perspective: 39 championships including shared titles, and 12 Grand Slams, the most recent in 2019 under Warren Gatland. The last title came in 2021. Droughts this long are rare in Welsh rugby, and they’ve always ended.
