News of a Oasis reunion has gripped the country and even impacted the Welsh racing world with a timely winner for a horse called Roll With It this weekend.
The Peter and Michael Bowen-trained improver scored by ten lengths in Worcester’s 2m7f handicap chase on Sunday to continue his excellent season.
It was a particularly sweet winner for jockey James Bowen who was among the millions eyeing up a ticket for next summer’s 17-show tour on Saturday and was successful in getting his chance to see the Gallagher brothers.
James and championship-chasing brother Sean are both at the top of their game in the jockey ranks this summer – almost like the Gallagher brothers of the Welsh racing scene – and the pair will attend next summer’s gig with third brother and co-trainer Michael.
The Oasis theme did not stop there as Dragonbet paid tribute to the 1990s icons with a play on some of their biggest hits in its sponsorship of Ffos Las’ Thursday fixture. Highlights include the ‘Some Might Lay Nursery’ and ‘Champagne Super Novice Stakes’.
The latter was won by Beeley, who was a first runner of the season at the west Wales circuit for Flat racing superpowers John and Thady Gosden. Stable jockey Kieran Shoemark was also taking the ride in a race won by subsequent top stayer Trueshan in 2019.
It was also a great day for Caerphilly-based trainer Bernard Llewellyn. When Zambezi Magic led home a 1-2-3 the yard with Vellner and Change Of Fortune in behind.
The second winner though took only a matter of minutes as Triple Nickle proved too good in the 2m DragonBet Ride Away Handicap. The two winners were ridden by Aidan Keeley.

Bristol City players Mark Sykes and Jason Knight celebrated success at Chepstow on Monday as Vaunted won her first race for new connections.
The Irish-born players form the Skw Racing Partnership and were winning for the first time on her seventh start. She runs for Gloucestershire-based trainer Adrian Wintle.
The first two winners on Chepstow’s Monday card came from Welsh-trained horses with So Smart scoring for Grace Harris and Christopher Mason’s Solar Edge taking the 5f nursery.
In top form
The core jumps season is approaching and Wales’ leading jumps trainer Evan Williams maintained his good form with two winners across the week.
He started the week with success for Honey I’m Good at Stratford before Henry Box Brown was also a Worcester winner.
