PREVIEWS CYMRU NORTH

Expect a great battle on Friday night when leaders Airbus UK Broughton host fifth-place Mold Alexandra.

The Wingmakers are unbeaten in six league outings, while Alex have won six of their last seven in the Cymru North.

Saturday’s action sees bottom side Chirk AAA, who have taken just a single point from their last 10 league games, home to a Prestatyn Town outfit whose recent form has been patchy.

Will the Colliers be encouraged by last weekend’s display at leaders Airbus, where they came back from three-down to lose just 3-2?

Or can Prestatyn kick on from their Welsh Blood Service League Cup victory against Ruthin Town in their last outing?

We are optimistic about Chirk’s chances of stopping the rot at Holyhead Road.

Guilsfield v Denbigh Town is a difficult one to predict.

Eighth-place Guils have lost their last two, both in cups, while Denbigh in fourth spot are undefeated in five, but dropped two points at Llandudno on Wednesday night.

Title hopefuls Holywell Town should maintain their unbeaten record in the league when they welcome out of form Gresford Athletic to the Achieve More Stadium.

After seven games without a win, can Ruthin Town turn the tide at next-to-bottom Llanidloes Town, losers of seven matches in a row?

SCORECASTS

Airbus UK Broughton 2 Mold Alexandra 2

Chirk AAA 2 Prestatyn Town 1

Guilsfield 1 Denbigh Town 1

Holywell Town 3 Gresford Athletic 0

Llanidloes Town 1 Ruthin Town 1

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH EAST

There could be a few goals at Cae Marian where Dolgellau entertain Llangollen Town, but expect the home side to come out on top.

Two unpredictable teams meet at Lant Avenue, but Llandrindod Wells’ unbeaten home record should remain intact at the expense of Llanfair Unuted.

Leaders Radnor Valley can expect a stiff test at Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, but the visitors should prevail.

Eighth hosts seventh when Llanuwchllyn take on visitors Cefn Albion. Both teams are expected to be higher in the table and this could turn into a real ding-dong affair but Llan should edge it.

Second-place Penrhyncoch should have the firepower to see off Llansantffraid, who sit in third position, but have gone ott the boil somewhat after a roaring start to the campaign.

Bow Street have what it takes to claim maximum reward at Rhos Aelwyd and the same is true for much-improved Penycae at basement side Welshpool.

SCORECASTS

Dolgellau AA 4 Llangollen Town 2

Llandrindod Wells 2 Llanfair United 1

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 1 Radnor Valley 3

Llanuwchllyn 2 Cefn Albion 1

Penrhyncoch 3 Llansantffraid Village 1

CPD Rhos Aelwyd 1 Bow Street 3

Welshpool Town 1 Penycae 2

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH WEST

Without a league win in nine attempts and lying one off the bottom, it is hard to see Bethesda Athletic upsetting the odds at leaders Rhyl 1879, unbeaten in their last eight games.

Llanrwst United have found the going tough of late and might have to wait a little longer for a first win under new manager Matt Sampson as unpredictable Conwy Borough may just have enough to succeed in Saturday’s derby at Y Morfa.

Hawarden Rangers are bottom but far from a poor side. Their elusive first victory of 2023-24 will surely come, but Saturday’s visitors to Gladstone Playing Fields, Brickfield Rangers, might just edge it.

Holyhead Hotspur will have a battle on their hands at home to Llannefydd, but based on recent home displays, the Holy Islanders should claim the spoils.

Potential match of the day in Ardal North West is fourth-place Nantlle Vale home to Llangefni Town, who are second at present.

Just one point separates the pair, and that has a good chance of remaining the case after they meet at Maes Dulyn, with a draw looking a sound bet.

St Asaph City should possess enough in the tank to get past a stubborn Felinheli, and Llay Welfare can scrap out a win at improving Saltney.

SCORECASTS

Conwy Borough 2 Llanrwst United 1

Hawarden Rangers 0 Brickfield Rangers 1

Holyhead Hotspur 3 CPD Llannefydd 2

Nantlle Vale 2 Llangefni Town 2

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 3 Bethesda Athletic 1

St Asaph City 2 CPD Y Felinheli 0

Saltney Town 2 Llay Welfare 3
