Just one JD Cymru North league fixture this weekend with ninth-place Gresford Athletic entertaining Caersws, who sit in seventh spot.
Gresford’s form has suffered a slump recently with no wins in five, while Caersws have been on a steady run with just one loss in six outings.
However, Athletic are a good side capable of springing back to form at any stage and they can grab at least a draw on Saturday.
Scorecast
Gresford Athletic 1 Caersws 1
This Saturday also brings the quarter-finals of the WBS League Cup, a competition for Cymru North sides.
Tie of the round has to be Flint Town United v Denbigh Town, two sides very much in form.
Unbeaten Flint are looking every inch title challengers this season and ave already won 3-0 at Denbigh in the Welsh Cup, as well as beating Dewi Llion’s men 2-1 in the league.
That cup result at Central Park on October 14 was Denbigh’s last defeat and they will be out for revenge, but we take the Silkmen to edge this one.
Guilsfield versus Mold Alexandra is another fascinating tussle in the making.
Guils only just lost out 1-0 at Cymru Premier Barry Town United in the Welsh Cup recently and had won seven on the bounce since losing 3-0 at Mold in the league.
Awesome Alex won nine in a row before enduring narrow defeats at Denbigh Town in the league and Cardiff Met in the Welsh Cup.
They bounced back last weekend with a cracking 5-1 triumph at Gresford and are capable of winning in Powys.
Ever-improving Llandudno will fancy their chances of reaching the semi-finals at the expense of Llanidloes, who have lost six in succession.
Nonetheless, on their last visit to Victoria Park in the league at the end of September, Tudno lost 3-2. Llandudno have won their last three matches.
Prestatyn Town against Ruthin Town is a meeting of two teams out of form.
Early in the season, Ruthin won 2-1 at Bastion Gardens. Can they repeat the act?
SCORECASTS
Flint Town United 2 Denbigh Town 1
Guilsfield 1 Mold Alexandra 3
Llanidloes Town 1 Llandudno 2
Prestatyn Town 2 Ruthin Town 1
ARDAL NORTHERN
Four matches scheduled for Saturday in Ardal North East,
In-form Dolgellau should have too much for bottom side Welshpool Town, but it could be much closer between Llandrindod Wells and Llangollen Town.
Penycae claimed their first league win of the campaign last weekend at the 10th attempt when they outscored Welshpool, but the Wrexham area side will find it much tougher at home to third-place Llansantffraid Village.
Promoted to Tier 3 this season, Radnor Valley are going great runs and will move top of the table if they defeat visitors Llanfair United, which we expect them to do.
SCORECASTS
Dolgellau AA 4 Welshpool Town 0
Llandrindod Wells 2 Llangollen Town 1
Penycae 1 Llansantffraid Village 3
Radnor Valley 3 Llanfair United 1
Just one game in Ardal North West, with the majority of teams involved in the FAW Trophy.
Next-to-bottom Bethesda Athletic will host Nantlle Vale.
Pesda had a morale-boosting league cup win at Llay Welfare last week, but Nantlle are a really difficult side to beat and might just shade it at Parc Meurig.
SCORECAST
Bethesda Athletic 1 Nantlle Vale 2
